Syrupy cornlets

Syrupy cornlets

Servings: -

Preparation time: less than 120 minutes

Mix all the ingredients with warm milk and knead a dough that is neither too hard nor too soft, which you leave to rise for half an hour or until it doubles in volume. Divide the dough into 5 equal pieces and from each piece spread a round sheet that you divide into 8-12 equal triangles. You can fill them with sweet cheese, fruit jam or chocolate cream. Roll the triangles in the shape of a horn and bake them at 170 degrees until golden brown. Then prepare a syrup boiled in water and sugar, then dip each horn in the hot syrup. Sprinkle the croissants with coconut.

How to prepare syrupy, fluffy two-tone croissants, recipe for croissants in 2 colors?

In the first phase we make the syrup through which we will pass the hot croissants taken out of the oven.

Caramelize a few tablespoons of sugar over which we add about 500 ml of water and leave on the fire until the sugar melts. Set aside and let cool.

We start the procedure for obtaining the dough. Dissolve the yeast in the warm milk, add the baking powder, eggs, sugar, oil and then mix everything for about 2 minutes.

Add a handful of flour in the rain, cover with cling film and leave to rise for an hour in a warm place.

After the leavening time we add the rest of the flour, we incorporate everything and we will obtain an elastic dough, easy to handle.

The amount of flour varies depending on its type, but also on the kneading method! The dough obtained is divided into two equal parts.

One will remain white, and over the other we will add the 2 tablespoons of cocoa and if we need a little milk or a little flour. So, in the end we will have 2 parts: one white and one black.

How do we shape the syrupy two-tone horns?

Each part will be divided into 3 balls, so we will have 3 black balls and 3 white balls that we will spread in turn in the form of equal circles.

Over the black circle we will overlap a white circle or vice versa and we will divide them into equal triangles, just like pizza.

At the base of each triangle we will put chocolate or jam and we will roll until we reach the top of the triangle. This way we will get the croissant.

In this way we will proceed to the other dough balls!

How to bake syrupy two-tone croissants?

After we have finished shaping the croissants, we put them in the tray lined with baking paper and we will put them in the preheated oven at 160 ┬░ C for about 20 minutes.

Baking time differs depending on the type of oven!

So we watch the croissants, when they start to brown they are ready and it's time to take them out of the oven! We pass them through the burnt sugar syrup and powder them with coconut.

It is a recipe worth trying, it is spicy and brings home the smell and taste of childhood.
