In a bowl, mix 3 tablespoons of sugar with the yeast and about 50 ml of warm milk. We mix.

Separately, put the remaining sugar and vanilla sugar over the rest of the warm milk. Add the yolks, salt and rum essence. We mix.

Sift the flour, put it in a bowl and make a hole, in the middle of which we put the mixture of yeast, grated lemon peel and flavored milk.

Mix well with a spoon or robot.

Gradually incorporate the oil into the dough and knead for about 10 minutes. I shook my hand.

After kneading, cut the dough in half.

In half of the dough, put cocoa and mix until the cocoa is well incorporated into the dough.

We put the two kinds of dough (the simple one and the one with cocoa) in two separate dishes (greased with oil) which we cover with a kitchen towel and leave them warm for about 1.5 hours or until they double in volume. .

After the dough has risen, take it out on the work table, floured with flour.

From the simple dough, shape a roll that we cut into 6 pieces.

From the cocoa dough, shape a roll that we cut into 5 pieces.

Take, one by one, a piece of the cocoa dough and spread it with the rolling pin, approximately the length of the tray in which we are going to bake the cakes.

We do the same with the simple dough.

We do this until we finish all the pieces of dough to be spread.

We put the dough spread on top of each other, alternately ... simple dough, cocoa dough and so on.

Grease the cake form with butter and cover it with flour.

Place the dough in the form, on the stripe, and leave to rise for about 30 minutes, covering the form with a kitchen towel.

Grease the cake with egg yolk mixed with a little milk.

Put in the preheated oven, at 180 degrees C, for about 40/45 min. To make sure the cake is well done, we do the hollow test.

In the first 20 minutes, place it on top of the form in which we have the cake, a baking paper, so that the yolk beaten above the cake does not burn.

Remove from oven.

Let cool and then slice.
